MotionVoter: Voter Management


 

Upon logging in to your MotionVoter account you will be presented with the Home window. From this window you can navigate to:

 

  • Support
  • Change Password
  • Account Setup
  • Motion Votes tab
  • And, for the purposes of this section of instructions, Voters tab to manage voter information and activity

 

To Manage Voters:

 

Click the Voters tab

Voter Management includes:
1. Adding voters to your account  
- Individually (up to 5 at one time)
- or by an import for a whole list at once
Editing voter information and management features:
2. Voter Status - Setting voters to active and inactive (to archive voter selections when they were an active voter)
3. Management Features - allowing select voters to manage motions, votes and/or the entire account.
Important Note: If a voter is to be just that, a voter, no management features should be selected.

 

1) Adding New Voters:

a. Add an individual voter (up to 5 at one time):

Click the New voter button

You will be brought to a window to enter in First Name, Last Name, Email address of voter (very important as this is where they are sent the voting invitation message) and they will be default set to Active (which you can de-select if you wish once you are back in the main Voters tab window).

 

This is also where you can apply Management Features to a voter:

  • Motions-Own - create new motions and manage motions votes created by this voter
  • Motion-All - create new motions and manage all motion votes regardless of creator
  • Voter - able to add and change voter details and management features; also Voters tab is visible
  • Account - account manager (there can be more than one); who can manage the entire account, including Motion Votes and Voters tab, as well as Plan information, and account settings

 

NOTE: When a management feature(s) is applied to a voter, the voter receives an email noting that they have been given account management features as well as sign in information.

Click Add when finished.

Based on the number of voters added:
1. the number of voters will change at the top of the Voter tab window
2. the newly added voters will appear in the list.
3. by clicking change search, a filter can be set to only show Active and/or Inactive voters.

 

b. Import a group of voters:

 

Click the Import voters button. The list to import needs to be of a specific format. Click visit "this page" for further instructions on how to import a list of voters at one time.

 

2) Voter Status - Setting a voter to active or inactive

Once a voter has been added, you can edit their voter information, including their voter status, by double clicking on their name in the voters list

 

Make the changes needed, and click Update.

 

3) Management Features

Once a voter has been added, you can edit their voter information, including management features, by double clicking on their name in the voters list

Change the Management Features as necessary.

NOTE: If you are adding management features, the voter will be emailed to alert them to the change. Upon signing in to the account, the voter will see the management feature that was applied. (Eg the Motion Votes or Votes tab will be visible and functional)

Click Update when finished.

 

Now that you have added voters to your MotionVoter account, and have assigned them management features if you so wished, you may now continue to create a new motion vote.

You may return to Voter Management anytime you would like to add or inactivate voters or change management features.
